The Space

The Inner Space is a multi-use, community space that hosts activities emphasizing personal growth and well-being made available by donation or for an affordable fee. Programs include daily yoga classes (all offered on a donation basis); weekly tai chi, qigong, and meditation classes; bi-monthly kirtans; and other programs in such areas as Buddhist studies, wellness, and the expressive arts. The Inner Space is conveniently located above the Poor Richard’s complex in downtown Colorado Springs. At its opening ceremony in March 2009, the Space was blessed by Tibetan Monk Khen Rinpoche Lobzang Tsetan and has a warm and peaceful feel. The Inner Space currently features an exhibition of thangkas, painted embroidered Buddhist banners, on loan from various Colorado Springs Buddhist collections.

We use this set up for lectures and book clubs.

Being downtown allows us a great central location but also creates a need for some creative parking situations. Here are a few tips to use when visiting The Inner Space.

1. There are plenty of metered parking spots available in our immediate area and usually a few open spots. Bijou Street, between Cascade and Tejon, is a good place to start as well as the 400 block of Tejon Street. The meter prices are 25¢ for 15 minutes and 10¢ for 6 minutes with a two hour limit. We do not recommend parking in any businesses lots as the business owners are rather vigilant about policing them (and they do tow).

2. There are free parking spots located within a two block radius that aren’t well known.   St. Vrain (one block north of Bijou) offers several areas and is just a walk down the alley. There are also spots located on Nevada avenue near Palmer High School. These spots are about a block and a half away but well worth the walk.

hi michelle,

most classes are ten dollars but we sometimes have ISOD classes which are FREE but we ask for a $1 donation for the space. check the schedule and come check something out!
i highly recommend kat tudor’s aftermnoon classes (she also has a monday night one) and I am also a big fan of kundalini yoga but for the record everything down here is great in one way or another. you just have to find something that works with your schedule.
